Okay… The twist helped in some way because it put carrie into the main story which was something the show needed. But at what cost?… Damn… I had to stand 4 hours of frustrating television to get there.

Certainly I'm not happy with this BIG sort of twist. It makes a large portion of those first few episodes completely worthless and a waste of our time. It also killed the show's credibility.
