Yeah, I'm going to echo your call for any legal scholar types to answer a few questions.  I've been on board with most of BB's more extravagant schemes, but that scene really pushed the bounds of "suspension of disbelief" into all-out absurdity.

I agree with others who think the awkwardness and repetitiveness of the scene was by design.  It felt like cheesy, bad acting because it was meant to be.

I was thinking the exact same thing about what dirt they have on the lawyer.  Is it illegal to fill safety deposit boxes full of cash?  Even if they belong to families of known criminals?

Good call.  I think Todd's intense interest in the process (much more so than the naive and "innocent" Jesse when they first started) doesn't make him so much a good apprentice as it does a conniving, determined, go-getter with his eyes on replacing the mentor.

Wasn't the general gist of those Mentos ads that popping a Mentos could help get you out of embarrassing or sticky situations?  Popping a Mentos suddenly gave you a fresh persepctive and allowed some creative, outside of the box thinking.
