I know it was a '10 US release, but HOW DO YOU KNOW definitely did not deserve the critical drubbing it got on its UK release in February. I loved it.

As someone who loved MARGARET (like, I fucking LOVED it), I have to admit it's taken on a status as a badge of cinephilia. y'know, "I saw it in cinemas when NOBODY saw it and it was our film". If there's anything we do in our obsessions, it's to hold onto little statuses like this as if they mean something.

THIS.

I was the same way with G-Side: Trust me, it clicks on the slower, more poignant tracks, then it'll make sense on these more aggressive tracks. "Island" could do with a few more cameos from the SMS camp, those really helped prop up the last two records.

People bitch a lot but there's seriously so much good and interesting hip-hop coming out from everywhere, all the time. The internet's kinda broken down a lot of walls now, which is awesome, allowing A$AP and (to a lesser degree) Action Bronson to blow the fuck up without having to neuter their music.

Detroit's had a pretty good year on the back of Danny Brown, I gotta say.

What's the game show Joey comes really close to hosting in "Friends"? That was my first thought when I clicked on this page

Both Alabama natives though! I'd argue that Alabama has the best hip-hop scene in the States right now.

G-Side are fucking impeccable.

Whatever the one about Eddie Vedder is, that's awesome too.

Underrated film.

"808s and Heartbreak".

Saw it with my then-girlfriend. She cried. We split up about a month later.

This song never really slayed me until I went through a breakup, and it made perfect sense.

"Song Cry" by Jay-Z. It's him looking back on an entire relationship, warts and all, right after the collapse. For some reason, the line where he admits that the girl helped him lease a car just kills me - some real life, we're-in-this-together stuff right there and now it's all gone. "Shit, I gotta live with the fact

Wish I'd seen GW too, wow.

My Bloody Valentine. Just got into them AFTER the reunion shows.

The best set I ever saw at a festival was Metallica playing "Master of Puppets" in its entirety at Download years ago.
