The show was actually in New York, not Cleveland, like it is every year.

I went last year, the crowd was not as bad as you see at some festivals, it definitely was not Coachella 2. I am a little concerned that is where it's headed, but I'll still check it out again this year, can't really beat this lineup.

Into Darkness definitely had some major issues, but to be fair, the first (2009) one was not a terrific "real Star Trek" film either. They both work as popcorn movies, but they're impossible to watch with the same expectations as you would a different Trek property.

Kamasi Washington's "The Epic" is an amazing record. If you don't know him, he's a jazz saxophonist who's worked with everyone from Kendrick Lamar to Flying Lotus.
