Yeah, but 9 out of 10 commentaries aren't worth listening to IMO, so I'd be happy with a high quality DVD of the movie…

PPS: I also don't want to watch some compressed, shitty rip of some fucking screener DVD on a 23" computer monitor and think I'm really seeing what I'm supposed to.

Listen, assholes, I normally wouldn't take troll bait, but on the off chance that you are actually open to new ideas and experiences, here's the problem with your glib, typical rejoinders.

Another reason to buy
A region-free DVD player? I got a Panasonic for 50 bucks at Amazon, and it plays everything (even AVI files). I know some foreign releases may not have English subtitles, but many do, and ordering DVDs through Amazon UK is no different, and Amazon FR, etc, have the same general layout, so it's

I saw Romance & Cigarettes
at the Film Forum in NY, one of the few places it played, and I enjoyed it in a perverse way. Demented? Definitely. Boring? No way.

Two Words
Pork Floss:

Any chance
of a Frank Henenlotter movie showing up? I vote for Brain Damage…

or

And how could we forget

yeah, I was quick enough to buy it when it 1st came out. maybe there are torrents available, or…

See, being drunk actually helped me find that moving (which I'm sure doesn't qualify as a ringing endorsement).

Gotta agree a bit with Phantom Hugger here. The Fountain was boring, pretentious, and shallow. Really. I understand that current 20-somethings want a "2001" for their generation, but this is not it. There is no mystery or depth to this movie, just imagery for it's own sake (which can sometimes be enough, btw).

I've got to second the love for Cut Copy's album, I have a feeling it's going to get overlooked on a lot of these year end lists.

and I don't mean to snobbishly exclude non NYC theaters, it's just where most of my memorable experiences have occured.

@carnivorous:

Barry Bostwick's real claim to fame should be as the original Danny Zuko in the first stage production of Grease (1972!). Laugh all you want, but it is sort of an iconic role, and to try and picture this man as Zuko is to understand the mercilessness of aging…

What Harlow said (both times).

Why would you bother posting such an asinine question? That same keyboard you used to type it could be put to better use researching the A.V club or even Wikipedia for christ's sake, if really wanted to know more. And no, you're not sorry. Although I am for wasting even this much time chastising a complete stranger

I gave up on this thread after my first post.
