So good! Flannery is such a terrific, twisted character and I should probably re-read it again.

I adore them. The writing is indeed repetitive and geared toward young readers, but the mythology Handler/Snicket builds ends up being relatively complex and great fun to keep up on. Also, they're quick, fun reads and a good distraction from heavier things.

Sometimes it seems like they're laying the flirtation between brother and sister really thick ("Sorry I'm always on you," etc.). Great fan fiction fodder.

I saw them in July as well and it was terrific. They're just so exuberant and likable, and it didn't hurt that they revisited Achtung Baby as much as any other album.

At a certain point, when you've seen a woman's naked body enough times, it ceases to be sexy or even visually interesting. That said, Lola's body was never interesting. It was poorly lit and slapdash, a photo without any particular artistic merit.
