It's a stupid insult, but it does mean something. It's a word, with a definition.

There's a difference between different genuine attempts to make a good film, and remaking a well-known classic simply to cash in on your ownership of the property.
I don't care for the original ghostbusters, but it is a childhood
favorite for many people of a certain generation, and is hugely popular. Remaking Total Recall, a good but dumb Arnie flick, Transformers, a dumb cartoon tv show, and TMNT, a dumb comic, didn't piss people off because they're remakes of dumb things. …
You're defending a cash-in remake.
You know they ate the turtle, right?
Equal parts vapid and troubling would certainly describe your self indulgent post. Do you really think Louie was trying to rape Pamela? Seriously?
You really don't have a good grasp on comedy do you? It's humorous that this is what Louie has to do to get the girl he loves (and who loves him, as you can see by the last episode) to kiss him. It's humorous how averse Pamela is to anything romantic.
I just watched it, and came to read the reviews, so yes, I'm a little late to the party.
Hahahahahahahahahahahah
Yeah, and when she jokingly says he forced a kiss on her, Louie laughs and says she kissed him back. There was no attempted rape. How you can read a show this badly is bizarre. You really think their love has been awkward and uncomfortable? They have issues (if they didn't it'd be pretty fucking boring show), but…
He didn't try to rape her. Christ, do you understand that relationships
in real life can be complicated? Had Louie done the same to a women he
had never met before, yes, it would have been attempted sexual assault,
but they liked each other. Pamela has an aversion to anything
romantic, so Louie pressured her into a…
Aronofsky wasn't pandering to religious people. How could you possibly miss all the extremely blatant references to the environment? This movie is pissing off Christians because, if anything, it's a PETA-supporting liberal's wet dream. All the evil, environment-hurting, animal eating industrialists (it actually…
No one cares.
Parks and rec turned to shit after season 2. Not because of the actors, though. I blame Amy Poehler and the writer's instense need for everything to turn out perfectly for every character, and the fact that they completely abandoned their cool, original, almost Ikiru-like premise in favor of making another…
"Torture porn works in exactly the opposite way: It shows the audience
absolutely everything, and bears the same relationship to actual horror
as porn does to romantic comedy."
C+ is too generous. The fact that is was written by a TV writer explains a lot.
No, it seriously gets weird how sincerely Payne seems to be mocking certain characters in the film (definitely not the protagonists, I don't want to spoil anything, but if you see it it's obvious). I don't know who this Dowd is either, but he's spot on with this one.
Great? The script was awful. Every joke was something I'd read before in an e-mail from my aunt. None of the characters had personalities, and the bad guys were all completely cartoonish. I love Payne, I love Will Forte, I love slow b&w movies, but this was garbage.
Subtle? Are you joking? The movie's about as subtle as The Big Bang Theory.
Snow Angels is an amazing movie.
