When I was in high school (2003-4-ish), it seemed the two most socially controversial things you could be were 1) gay, or 2) homophobic. It was a weird time.

I think it was established in the one where they all talked about their TV/movie/music crushes that they're all breeders. Someone in the comments pointed out how weird that is at a pop culture site.

I love his "it's not a song, it's [things that augment the creativity of a song drastically]" argument. Nobody tell him that prog exists.

Well, we already know what happened to Wooderson.

I didn't mean career suicide in the sense of Gob's magic career, but more in the sense of SUPER-SPOILERS-HOLY-SHIT that last scene where Lucille gives the Bluth Company back to Gob and tells him to keep his nose clean, no scandals. Cue cut to Tony texting him.

I'm happy I'm not the only one that felt the gay jokes were starting to stick out. I don't even feel like they're *mean*, it's just dated, like Noel said. But in rewatching some old eps to get primed for Season 4, I realized this show's gay jokes have ALWAYS been dated. Between the stereotypes and the portrayals they

Which makes it interesting that his appearance here was relegated to have taken place several years ago. Makes me wonder if there's an official-but-untold story behind his absence.

I was under the impression that Ted wished he'd spent more time with his friends in the present, and seemed to lament that he, (I'm assuming, in some sort of abstract, didn't-really-tangibly-happen way) pined for his future wife. I feel like if he would eventually lose her, that would be a completely reasonable

I'll never understand the hatred for Season 4 of 30 Rock. Season 5 was definitely *the* stinker, and although Season 6 righted some wrongs, but I wouldn't declare them out of the slump until Season 7.

It's one of those things because Weezer albums are never really wanting for hooks, which are results that make it hard to tell a powerpop band they missed the mark. But lyrically, it does seem like Rivers phones it in, like he writes with a rhyming dictionary, picks his favorite matching word and half-heartedly tries

According to the credits, that was ex-Letters to Cleo guitarist Mike Eisenstein as the other guitarist in Mouse Rat. I'm guessing he appreciated the shoutout last season via depressed-Ben's shirt?

I'm shocked they didn't bring up Patton's birth control bit from Werewolves and Lollipops. Because some comedians opt to include hecklers on their albums when they deal with them masterfully (which, in this case, he certainly did), but this instance was unique in that the bastard absolutely ruined the bit. The

I had a bunch of AV Club tabs open, and thought I was returning to a comments section on a Doctor Who episode when I was actually here.

Too honest. Kinda stung.

I've liked this season, but I've felt there are trends and arcs that just plumb don't measure up to previous seasons'. This is the first episode of the year I felt was unencumbered by any of that and could hold its own.

When Counting Blue Cars came out, I was blown away by the earth-shattering bohemian open-mindedness. But by 2009, I applauded the scoff-with-eyeroll Liz issued Wesley's referring to God as "she" on 30 Rock. The difference made by time and a fuckload of beatnik douches.
