Yeah, My Weakness is Strong was kinda disappointing, though I guess Patton has become more of an "adult" (for lack of a better term) and his act really reflects that. Though I thought it was kind of irritating that he did a series of airplane jokes without at least hanging a lantern on the fact that airplane jokes

The commentary track said that this episode basically killed Otto, so yeah, he's really best used in small doses.

Grandma's Virginity…
comes back, has Dan Harmon as a co-host, and you guys won't even give it the time of day.

I like Michael Ian Black, but I really wish he wasn't writing a book with Meghan McCain.

Dark…
The humor on the show was always pretty dark; I remember murder being a common and accepted practice in the Dinosaur-verse. And it seemed like every problem the Sinclairs had threatened to kill at least one of them in each episode.

Mickey Rourke…
looks like David Cross in monster makeup.

Plus, he's a big guy, and good with rope.

Their Comedy Central Show…
Still holds up very well. I'd say it's aged even better than Mr. Show.

Until today…
I had always assumed "Lisa the Greek" was a reference to Zorba the Greek, not some old football guy. As a Simpsons fan, I have no choice but to hang myself.

Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein have openly stated that they nearly killed themselves working on season 7, which is why season 8 was less than stellar. But Christ, nearly every season 7 episode is absolutely perfect.

Harry Shearer does most of his lines via phone and usually doesn't come to table reads. He's always been a total grump but he hasn't cared about the show in at least a decade, which is really apparent in his vocal work.

Christ, the list of video game podcasts you should listen should begin and end with "The Giant Bombcast."

We never saw the melted birdbath that caused the feud :(

Simpsons nerd corrections: Mike Scully took over in season 9 and the show got wackier. Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein "grounded" the show a bit in seasons 7 and 8, which most people love.

Damnit…
Dustin Diamond has not updated his Twitter in two years. I was hoping he had a Kevin Smith-ish existence of narcissistic mania.

Grandma's Virginity Podcast!
Seriously, AV Club, you can't give the Grandma's Virginity Podcast a single shout-out? They've done some amazing interviews and segments with a ton of West Coast comedians that run the podcast circuit (which is the 21st Century equivalent of Vaudeville).

A really mature show…
I always felt like Pete and Pete was a show for adults that just happened to be about kids. I went back and watched the DVDs when they came out (and watched them again and again over the years) and felt that the show really captured the powerlessness of being a kid, but also the brief moments of

That Cheers parody…
Was so perfect, and also a bit loving. And makes me deeply, deeply depressed about modern Simpsons.

LOVITZ!?
What are you doing in this :(

A note on About Schmidt…
The novel is absolute trash and shares maybe .001% of the film's DNA. Begley's book reads like some old man fantasy novel where a rad oldster tells off everyone he hates in perfectly-written speeches, gets into a sexual relationship with a girl decades his junior, and then has ribald
