There are some great albums in that category though:

I'm pretty sure I'm not Noel Coward, but I hate (not claim to hate, but really do hate) The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men as I think they're dreadful. Spare me the 'you only hate it because it's popular!' crap.

Shelley Duvall gets far too much stick for The Shining, I think she's great in it. And as for King's criticism that her character spends much of the film screaming and being hysterical? I'd probably react the same way if I was stuck in that hotel with an increasingly insane husband who then tried to kill me. Besides,

'Well, of course, you can dance any steps you like. But that doesn't mean you'll . . . win'

One young woman's erotic journey from Milan to Minsk.

So like most of the Best Picture winners in the 80s then.

I once had someone on my Facebook friends list call Back to the Future 'Reaganite propaganda' - I de-friended him immediately of course.

This is fantastic (especially Givin' Em What They Love), definitely worth the wait. Might even be better than The Archandroid in my opinion. Either way, one of my favourites of the year so far.

I didn't mention Joanna Newsom there in the album covers bit, but I've nearly always found the Smog/Bill Callahan ones eye-wateringly bad.

Super Furry Animals are brilliant (and sadly seem to be on indefinite hiatus these days) so I can forgive them their name and their album covers. Rings Around the World is one of my favourite albums of the 2000s.

I think I still have a crush on Jane Wiedlin as Joan of Arc in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

1. Bill Callahan has been making great music for 20 years now, and I'm enjoying this on the first few listens
2.
He's probably a contender for Best Music Act With Most Consistently
Terrible Album Covers (see also: Animal Collective, Super Furry Animals)
3. Having dated Cat Power and Joanna Newsom he's definitely the

One of my favourite films of the year so far, went to see it on impulse and so glad I did.

There's nothing 'meh' about one of the best bands of the last 20 years.

Jonathan from Buffy triumphs again! If he wins an Oscar for this, he'll be halfway towards EGOT status. Superstar might yet become reality!

Yeah, pretty much.

Django Unchained crass? Well yeah, in a way it is. Was still great fun though.

Another band so consistently terrific? I'd suggest Yo La Tengo and Low.

Jonathan from Buffy triumphs again!

I love how insane she is. I don't love how it'll probably be 2020 before we get another album from her.
