Interesting. I had no idea the site had been updated. By the way, can you tell me how this statement by Chase is ambiguous?

This site was discussed in The Sopranos recap threads but here it is below for those who have not seen it. Warning: Do not go there unless you want to know the end—definitively. If you harbor any hopes or interpretations or personal philosophies . . . don't go there. It's also a moving elegy to the show and proves…

Yeah, except Tony is neither tense or looking over his shoulder in the final scene. And Chase didn't say "it doesn't matter" but that he "ripped Tony's life away". No wonder he has so little respect for his own fans.

But Chase did say what happens in the Belzer interview and in his latest interview. If he had a hidden reel that showed Tony getting shot they still wouldn't accept it. "Tony Lives" people are the OJ jurors of the 21st century.

"Somebody said it would be a good idea if we said something about the ending. I really wasn't going to go into it. But I'll just say this: When I was going to Stanford University graduate film school, 23 years old, I went and saw 'Planet of the Apes' with my wife. When the movie was over I said, 'Wow, so they had a…

The plot ending that Chase had no interest in is not whether or not Tony dies. He assumed (perhaps incorrectly and in his latest comments says he may have botched the execution because people didn't get it) people would know Tony died. What he had no interest in is who did it and why. That was the intended mystery of…

Nice post Reagan. A lot of denial here.

I think Blue Comet was for the whack happy fans who were waiting for the all out NY/NJ war. To carry out his vision for the final scene, he needed the war to be over so that Tony would be comfortable and relaxed enough to go out to dinner with his family. So he ended the war abruptly and perhaps not so realistically…

He just said he never read it. Sepinwall also said that Chase told him before the interview that he wouldn't take questions looking for clues about the final scene so maybe he was playing dumb. How could he have not at least heard of that site, if not read it? Anyway, there are new statements from Chase that for…
