Forgot about that one, it was brutal.   But then the lovable and cuddly Tony made up with AJ by bringing him a pizza in his room…..before being called away to MURDER MATHEW BEVILAQUA!!   Scenes like that is why I love this show.  Sensitive father one moment, stone cold killer the next.

Yes Dark!  I remember reading that and it blew my mind.  For those who haven't read it I can paraphrase here:

The Master of Sopranos essay isn't discredited simply because Chase hasn't read it and I think Chase is being sincere that he hasn't read it.   He could simply have been referring to many of interpretations offered by writers across the net that had the same ideas as in the MOS essay (Frankly, the fact that he's never

Cool! Thanks for the response.   I guess we will never know what he was referring to.

Is that really Sepinwall?

I just read it (I may have read it before).  To me it is well written but really ignores the logic behind Tony dying.  He or she really seems to be going out of his way to come up with some other reasonable interpretation other than Tony dies.  There is another poster on the same site named "Lenny Moore" who actually

That was perfect Herc!   He also loses on the horse "Meadow's Gold" in the beginning of this episode.

It has to be the Master of Sopranos essay and not simply because it's so good and so well researched, but also because it's somewhat well known and must have crossed Chase's radar at some point.  I doubt he's referencing some random bloggers comments on some unknown fan forum.  I found out about the MOS essay from a

Yes! I was very surprised that Todd missed this.  He's protecting his father here, not Livia.  The story points out the violent, reckless, and sociopathic nature of Johnny Boy who easily could have shot Livia right through the head.  The story is funny to Janice but essentially very disturbing.  Tony always demonized
