That whole section brought the show uncomfortably into neckbeard territory for me. I know that we are watching a Fantasy show here, but skeletons raising from the ground being blasted with blue bolts of lightnings made it just a tad bit too dungeons and dragons for me.

Immutable law of Game of Thrones: Danys will always suck in even numbered seasons.

Let's hope this one does however. For @Devil_Dinosaur:disqus's sake.

Erik is the original spelling by the way. The c is an anglicisation.

I have driven in storms where the windshield looked EXACTLY like literal buckets of water has been thrown on it. I did not find that to be “impressionistic” at the least.

The humans were telegraphed as crazy. The plot being about a grown man’s desire to collect lego versus his son desire to play WASN’T. That was spoilt in the very first paragraph and I’m glad I didn’t read this review until after I saw it.

They toured their debut album in full last year. So much fun.

Oh shit. I just remembered I have never agreed with a single review of Portlandia. Why do I keep reading them again? In the hope that they've replaced them with someone who gets the show instead of who's only credential seem to be that they are FROM Portland?

Yup. This was a pretty fantastic episode all around. ESPECIALLY the church bit. The insipid director was quite good too. I feel I am just reading a confirmation bias rationalisation based on this: "I find myself stymied when trying to take that approach with “3D Printer,” partially because the episode lacks any of

Most porn pass the Bechdel test.

I agree with you. It can be both: for the characters the magic and belief is obviously real, but for our rational minds it can simply be coincidences and clever cold reading and guesses on the seers behalf. It's his entire life job to do so, so we can assume he has clearly built up a considerable psychological and

The whole point was that meeting the mother was a footnote in the story of how Ted eventually ended back up with Robin. A sweet footnote, but a footnote nonetheless. The kids explicitly points this out.
