Oh, and Wesley Willis, the punkest of them all.

Ben Weasel once wrote a joke article for some fanzine or other arguing that, due to its popularity, the black-and-white Chuck Taylor was no longer an acceptable punk rock shoe. Only the cream-colored Chucks were now admissible. The hardcore punk movement needed to be made fun, which is where the Dwarves, the

conor, all the Fat Wreck stuff is the suburban punk kids who couldn't give a flying fuck about the "rebellion" their music pretended to perpetrate, and actively hated the anarchist idiots who threatened to co-opt an American musical form that was first popularized by the freaking Ramones, who once wrote the lyrics: "I

And the Menzingers, too, who are one of my favorite newer punk bands.

It's a bizarre, bizarre film, and yeah, it's pretty funny.

Jesus Christ, the aughts were awful for punk. I'm talking about RIGHT NOW, where not only are bands like Screeching Weasel, Smoking Popes, Swingin' Utters, and Social Distortion reuniting/releasing new material (plus OFF!, who are basically a hardcore supergroup), but punk rock is having a very significant influence

In the 80s, yes

Awesome
The remaining members of Descendents and Bad Religion should form a band and call it We Didn't Go to College.

This band played at the Aragon Ballroom
About 2000 people watched this show. The show was terrific. The concert was a jam.

I love how they tried to co-opt Odd Future into the "indie rock world." That had me rolling.

You people are just as bad as Tegan and Sara, and perhaps Hitler as well

Mainstream hip-hop was always decent, a few offenders aside.

It's odd to say, but the slower songs on IAVF manage to be a bit uptempo. They've found that crossbreed between electro and rock & roll that worked so well for the Black Keys on Brothers.

"We Need a Myth" is the best song on the album, and it's not even mentioned here.

One of the things I really do like about Odd Future is the way they've co-opted the white suburban punk aesthetic and subverted it. And it was naturally subversive anyway.

As many problems as I actually have with the group, I have a feeling that Odd Future are going to be the next Reatards. People are going to incessantly complain about how juvenile they are, then 5 years later realize that was one of their strongest attributes.

"a couple stinkers" = A-

Why are they like 30 though? That makes absolutely no sense on the X-Men timel—-

Everybody Hates Chris was a great show at the start.

I'll be honest: The STP album that came out in 1994, Purple, is not bad at all. "Interstate Love Song" is a legitimately great song.
