Does anyone have any idea if Lovecraft's work is nearing public domain? I've found at least one source that says since the copyright paperwork was filled out incorrectly, pretty much all of the material in Weird Tales (Conan, Lovecraft, etc.) is public domain, but I wouldn't want to be the one to test that in court.
The best part about getting a Kindle was that suddenly lots of science fiction and pulp stories that have long ago gone out of print were available at pretty reasonable prices.
