Walt's visit to Brock and Andrea felt to me like an indirect reply to the fans that need to know exactly how he poisoned the boy. I immediately realized how insanely easy it would be to poison a kid: put something in their cereal when nobody's home.

The thing with the guy in the plaza was meant to show that Walt's string of incredible luck, mentioned in awed tones by Jesse just a scene earlier, has run out.

I'm way late to this thread, but I don't see anyone looking at what seems to me a pretty obvious reason to whack Tony, which is that Carlo is talking to the Feds, Tony's about to be indicted, and is therefore a massive flip risk for New York, having directly done business with all the NY bosses.
