Late to the party, but I have to chime in on this show.  It just strikes all the right chords.  There's humor, but more than that, there's beauty.  The image of the youths picking up trash while reciting war poetry is funny, but also quite touching.

I agree.  Manos is at least of decent quality- the sound and visuals aren't too bad.  For me, the most boring ones are where the movies are of poor quality and you can't even understand what's going on.

From the performances they showed from the Russians, I was shocked they medalled at all.  China must have done pretty poorly if they placed after the Russians and Romanians.  But, of course, I wouldn't know, as they didn't show any Chinese routines.

Yeah- as much as I like The Good Wife, Alicia sure does seem to win a lot of the time, to the extent that the prosecution seems incompetent.  They shouldn't even want to take Cary back when he basically hasn't won a case in a year.

Agreed- House was different enough from ACD's Sherlock Holmes that deviations from the mythology were acceptable.  BBC's Sherlock, for whatever its flaws, has handled the modernization wonderfully.  But Elementary, with a modernized Sherlock and female Watson seems both too divergent and too similar to appease anyone.…
