Yeah, I think he just didn't enjoy the role.
Yeah, I think he just didn't enjoy the role.
I don't get that at all. A few minutes of screen time in this episode were used to flash back to the previous ten Doctors. In his time as showrunner, they've brought back the Ice Warriors, the Great Intelligence, the Cybermats, the Silurians, and other classic DW monsters and species. He and his writers toss out…

What's your source for that? I heard Coleman is confirmed to return, as is Smith.
Everyone is dismissing this possibility because Smith's Doctor knew that Hurt's Doctor had done something terrible enough that he didn't consider him to be the Doctor at all. But we saw earlier in the same episode that the Doctor looked into and interacted with his own timestream and visibly recoiled at some future…

Uh, wasn't there a scene in "A Good Man Goes to War" when…
I noticed that as well. It could be because they were both in costume, probably had just finished filming or were taking a break on set, and he was just in that mindset — but it was striking how different his mannerisms and physicality were from earlier interviews I've seen with him, where he was just slouching on a…
In a timey-wimey way, she could be to River as the Valeyard was to the Doctor.
I have heard RUMORS that there will be something filmed showing McGann's Doctor regenerating into Hurt's Doctor. Then again, rumors like that are usually a crock of shit.
Eccleston can be in whatever he wants and I don't think he's broken any contract. But him being such a pain in the ass about the 50th has really lowered my opinion of him — especially considering some of the other shit he, as a talented actor, has agreed to be in.
Yeah, it really seemed like there should have been a general panic and a massive ash and debris cloud there. My guess is they did the Spock/Uhura/Khan fight scene before settling on the idea of having Khan smash his ship into San Francisco Bay.
It's funny. I recall weapons being used at warp being pretty much old hat in DS9 and VOY.
Khan's actual race was pretty ambiguous in TOS, despite his obviously Sikh name. He didn't look particularly Indian and didn't speak with a clearly distinct accent (South Asian, British, Mexican, Spanish, or otherwise).
But that's — in large part — because we had three seasons of television to get to know those characters. And because the body count of TOS and even the TOS films wasn't terribly high. In STID, we saw a shit-ton of people die before Kirk did, which made another death seem less tragic or shocking.
Somehow, they didn't need the Organians to create a Neutral Zone between the Federation and Romulan space.
I didn't like the scream, but I did like the scene overall and I agree that Quinto's Spock needed that kick in the pants after spending 220 minutes on screen not being very much fun.
That was the only obvious misstep in the film to me. The scene itself worked for me; the "KHAAAAAN!" was too much.
Khan was a genetically engineered superhuman. I don't think he was distinctly white or Indian or Latino or any other race. I think whoever created him made genetic scrambled eggs with Khan's DNA and he ended up being an amalgam.
Yeah, I've grown to fucking hate that song in the one and a half times I've heard it, so I'll be skipping this particular outing.
Truly they are the Mark Sanfords of pop music.
