Yes, but I think at this point the comparison is implied. I don't need to know that it's being compared because every episode in a season of television is compared to previous seasons.
Carl's heartbreak scene was actually pretty good. And where he had tears in his eyes. I think we're just on the verge of seeing what Ethan has to offer with his acting. Emma's really grown this season, so maybe next season will be his blossoming.
I melted during the scene where he just stroked Ian's face gently for a second.
This was a confusing finale, because it kind of just .. happened. Things happened, but nothing enough to feel very excited about. That scene at the bar where they were discussing all those gay people was great though.
Oh cool, another review that starts with a comparison to the old Simpsons.
"I spent four years making fun of everyone and hiding mops so the janitor would think he was going insane" - Classic April Ludgate.
Amy Poehler nailed the facial expression when she saw him. And that shit eating grin was gold.
It definitely felt like Rachel was playing a caricature of a New Yorker, like we see on Girls. I got some of a Marnie vibe as well. But It thought it was hilarious.
Emmy Rossum deserves a nomination for Best Actress in a comedy OR drama. Honestly, they should make a tragicomedy genre just for Shameless and then give it all the awards.
This may well be my favourite episode of the season.
Honestly, this break-up has been building up for quite a while. The whole Jess trying to fix Nick thing was not going to just go away. I think it just took a look at what a real relationship is like. You may love the person, but realize you just want different things. But the loft is wayyyy too crowded right now. No…
Also Homer judging Kirk for using cello resin.
I think a part of Garret wanted to be gone. He was miserable, he's already got money, he was hungry and he just seemed pretty done with everything.
Your mother put the pregnancy test for you in a Daisy. Other things happened, but they weren't important. Bam.
It is genius, but does that mean she was just pretending to be drunk? I'm pretty sure she was acting pretty drunk at some points.
I was really looking forward to watching him organize some newspapers.
Loved loved loved this episode.
I think you mean Find. Trouble Will Find Me.
I thought Dunham did a pretty good job. The beginning was stronger, but I'd still say it's one of the stronger episodes of the New Year. She seemed to be enjoying herself, and took things well when she had those line fumbles.
