I really want to justify having him as A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones…toiled in relative obscurity for a long time before breaking out by doubling down on his most absurd qualities (and/or becoming a tv show). Plus Tity Boi speaks for itself.

That's solid, but it would also be nice to have Parks and Rec in some kind of "student surpasses the master" narrative with The Office.

See, I think The Office works decently well with Jay-Z. At one time it was one of the best around, then faded strongly before recouping some good will toward the end, and without it, there are many as good or better shows that wouldn't have the means or audience to exist.
