You know, solid point. My sister and I have always gotten along well, but if there was a trough in that period it was definitely when she was 13-15 and I was 15-17. She magically appreciated me again when I left for college.

That's a good point. She is clearly meant to be the Jay-Claire child, like Luke is the Phil child, Manny is (broadly) the Mitchell child, and Haley is (again, broadly) the Gloria child. But I think we'd agree that she doesn't have to be quite so cold and condescending.

I've only been reading recaps here a few months and posting only a couple weeks, and already I'm disillusioned enough to assume this is satire, even though I really genuinely enjoy this show and liked pretty much everything in it tonight.

I probably will try Community at some point. I think it's definitely true that people don't really need television to make them think all that hard…if I want something to make me laugh while still allowing me to feel the addictive and self-serving arrogance of intellectual superiority, I'll watch Arrested Development…

I mean, it gets terrible ratings so I assume it's really smart and funny. But I believe that shows like Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother can be good even if they get good ratings.

I like the Big Bang Theory. I'm severely turned off watching Community from all the people who jizz about it on here constantly. Then again, Arrested Development is the greatest tv show of all time. So maybe these Community people are on to something. But do they have to be such dicks about it?
