I liked this band better 20 years ago…
…when they were called Talulah Gosh.

Most underrated Sparks album = Angst in My Pants.

Pretty spot-on, Noel.
Though I actually liked Night of the Furies. And I can't quite decide if "Bow to the Middle" is *annoyingly* catchy or simply *naggingly* catchy.

If anyone's interested…
There's an Alec Baldwin kill screen coming up.

The Two of Us…
…is awesome. Moving and thoughtful without ever slipping into sentimentality or preachiness. Just a beautiful, character-driven film. RIP.

Breathtaking.
Especially that slow motion shot. It's like Chariots of Fire! But with drums!

She was also in that X-Files episode with White House Josh and the volcano fungus.

The Byrds' post-Sweetheart material is actually worth delving into if you're into that sort of thing. The Ballad of Easy Rider and Untitled, in particular, have some surprisingly solid material - "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" is as good a Dylan cover as the band ever did, and that's saying something.

Way to go, Clint!
The next time I see Eastwood, the old man's getting a high-five. Or a firm handshake. He's probably more of a firm handshake kinda guy.

Oh, and I'm very excited about this set. They could've just titled it "Reno Dakota's December/January Netflix Queue."

"The Unknown" is awesome - it's one of the reasons I can forgive Tod Browning for semi-botching "Dracula."

Supergrass gets *my* US love! Every time they release a new album, I breath a sigh of relief that they're still around and rockin'.

Real Emotional Trash is great - probably my second-favorite of the year (after that Radar Bros album I mentioned below).

It's real good - they've turned into the Tom Petty of alt-rock, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Radar Bros.
The Radar Bros.' "Auditorium" hasn't gotten much press, but it's my favorite album of the year, and I'm pretty sure it'd be right up your alley, Noel.

Is that worth watching? I just discovered it was Netflix-able last week, and it sounds intriguing.

Yeah, Bug's biggest flaw was that it was marketed as some sort of nu-horror thing. In any case, it's good to see that lots of people actually liked the damned thing - hopefully its cult will grow. I think the same thing has happened with The Hunted, another underrated recent Friedkin effort.

Nabin (or anyone else)
Please list 5-10 hip hop albums from 2008 that are worth hearing. Not necessarily the best, but the most interesting. Or the best. Whatever. I just haven't heard anything this year, and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
