I can practically smell both the beer and the horses.

Pretty much any mid-30s Astaire & Rogers movie is just chock full of great dancing - even the lesser films like "Carefree" have some beautiful, endlessly inventive stuff.
Haven't heard the new disc yet, but I'll second the Satellite Rides love - it's a fantastic, underrated record, though a different beast than their earlier stuff.
That gorilla…
is a pretty good singer.
…or no deal!
Ooh, topical.
"NATALIE PORT-A-POTTY"
That's the best NYPost headline since "IKE 'BEATS' TINA TO DEATH" on Ike Turner's obit.
Amazing.
Geez, those numbers for Expelled are both surprising and depressing - were churches pushing this one? I like to pretend "intellegent design" is just a fringe theory, but apparently not.
Unrest
Quick, someone post a list of their best songs. I've only heard Imperial FFRR, and only enjoyed about a third of it. This seems like a band I should like, dammit.
Yeah, the Undertones are amaing - all their punk-era stuff is top-notch, and "Positive Touch" is one of the best pop albums of the 80s.
Aw, last night I listened to Age of the Sun for the first time in years - it's a awfully neat record. Did anyone hear/like their follow-up effort? I'm suddenly curious to hear it.
A couple more:
"It Must Be Summer" - Fountains of Wayne
"Summer Days" - Bob Dylan
Criminal
Patton Oswalt wrote up an essay on this one for Ed Brubaker's awesome "Criminal." Pretty neat how Criterion got Sean Phillips (the artist on that series) to do the box art for this - I'm totally stoked to see it.
Cars 2
Does not need to happen. Especially if Rascal Flatts and Larry the Cable Guy are involved again.
Emitt Rhodes
His 1970 self-titled album is one of my favorite records of the decade - the sort of clear-eyed pop masterpiece that Paul McCartney was never quite able to spit out.
Hey!
New Ken Loach!
Hmm…
Nice summary of the problems with City of God - I'm a fan, but it's definitely a movie that almost enters "guilty pleasure" territory.
"laugher"?
C'mon, Nathan! This ain't Variety!
Stoltz is great.
And awfully underrated. I'm really looking forward to hearing this.
Question:
So if I want to Netflix some SCTV - where do I start? The early years? Full 90-minute episodes? Which season is best?
