I had a chance to see this a few weeks back at a free screening with the director there for a Q+A, and it was only his presence that kept me from leaving halfway through. This film is probably closer to a D+ than a C-, although obviously that's splitting hairs.

Nobody is saying anything
about "a Twitter for my dick?" Come on everybody. That's gold!

That song is by Wilbert Harrison and I didn't have to look it up, but I'll be god damned if I know why I know that.

You didn't have to be mean. I wasn't mean. You could have just said that the ultimate option was suicide, and then everyone on the whole internet would have known how smart you are. It would've been a win-win-win: I'd look smart, you'd look smart, Chubby B would have come off like a caring and sympathetic sort.

What would be the ultimate option?

I just recently worked on a project for a person who is a friend of Joaquin Phoenix's. And at one point he stopped by to say hey, and came over to see what I was working on. I described it to him, then turned back to what I was doing. He stood behind me for a few minutes, silently watching. It was all I could do

Man, I *just* missed getting the first on this one!
I just watched this film for the first time (I'm white, what can I say?) and it is really funny and good. Remember when Denise Richards was a thing? And we didn't have a black president? Those were different times, my friends.

You read your post after it goes up—you have to, right? It's like a compulsion. And then you see that you've used the word 'moment' two sentences in a row. And then you're swamped by the further compulsion to *immediately* post again, so everyone will know that you aren't really that dumb, and ha ha, if only one could

I have recently begun culling after a lifetime of being a completist. There are over 6000 artists in my iTunes, and it's getting silly. Mrs. Deputy never listens to music anymore, because she is too overwhelmed any time she tries to find something in there.

Last year I wrote a letter to the editors of The Week, who had recently taken up quoting writers from this site and crediting them as being from The Onion. It was a strongly worded letter and included quotes from the staff here about that very situation. I received no reply from the editors of The Week, but a few

I should be a part of this chart.

Also, Devo is from Ohio.

That is indeed true. Hey Sean, are you in Los Angeles or something? If so, let's get a drink. Your treat!

Sobered up a bit and stopped back by to say that the Rival Schools record is so great. Much of the same abrasive guitar crunch, but shot through with gorgeous strings and rich harmonies. It's definitely not the record if you're still after the snotty youth approach from Quicksand (or, heavens forfend, Gorilla

That'd be "Reconstruction Site," and it's a fantastic album. Personally I like "Left & Leaving" more, but the production on 'RS' is unfuckwithable.

I believe Astro Scientician just won the thread, everyone else can go back to their business.

I was just reading the Vonnegut review when I realized I'd used the word "first" in my comment. Now looking at it again, I see I also used "one" and "starting."

First that metaphor book
and now this one. This is starting to look like an awesome week for nerdy books. I am going to read this too!

I am going to
…read the FUCK out of this book. How's that for a metaphor?

I just stopped by to respectfully request that you put that second thumb back up for me. I said I was bored *and* irritated. Not just bored.
