That's just a solid episode. Same with Leech Woman mentioned above. I recall I had Terror… on video and watched it 3 or 4 times. I think I have a bias against MST3K episodes that were in black and white - there aren't that many of those listed among the favorites here, either.
right, and that it has an especially devoted following, some of whom will steer you wrong if you wanted to get into the show.
oh man i forgot about all the danger: x jokes - danger! drywall!
Oh, and it even has an appearance by Torgo in one of the host segments.
Okay, there's 463 posts and no mention of Danger: Death Ray, which is definitely in my top 5 episodes. From the absurd music to Bart Fargo to all the blatant theft from the Bond films, I'm not sure how this isn't getting more love. Maybe because it was never released on DVD.
They didn't get away with it - apparently the producers of The Island had to settle with the producers of Parts: The Clonus Horror. I always felt kinda bad when MST ripped on movies with decent concepts that had terrible execution - this was one of them.
i think so. there are plenty of 'oh god, when will this completely lame skit end' moments, but you're missing out on lots of gems, too.
Yeah, I remember an acquaintance happened to catch this episode having never seen the show and for weeks we would be saying 'My nuts?' to one another.
I forgot my luggage!!
Is it a coincidence that all but one of these are sci-fi episodes?
I watched Mitchell with a group of MST neophytes, and eventually we started fast forwarding through the host sequences since they had no idea what the hell was going on. I think that'd be mentioned in the 'Places Not to Start', even though Mitchell is one of my favorite episodes.
yeah, there's a section in hegel that made my philosophy class all immediately think of this scene. 'when will then be now?' 'soon.'
most of louie's 'chasing tail' episodes have been him going after much younger girls. he did go after that single mother.
pretty sure this just would've turned that scene into camp, instead of being legitimately terrifying. hopper would've just sounded like that donald duck blowjob clip that used to circulate on the internet years ago.
i seem to remember someone making a dismissive sound, as if to say, 'we've all seen this a million times already'
On this account, the audience is right and not the writers. Even though no one in Springfield ages, and the consequences of their actions are always forgotten, and this is patently ridiculous, the audience still connects with the characters in very real ways. Skinner had been built up rather well - he'd had a…
this is exactly the kind of stuff that the sopranos rightfully left on the periphery of the show. tony was the central character and the show never really spent much time with anyone else except to show how they related to tony.
It is from the Independent Spirit Awards though, and it appears that his Spirit left him long ago.
i thought the end was definitely an old short film.
