It's not necessarily that the TV show was better than the movie, but that the show ended up becoming more popular and memorable than the source material (see the entry for Alice).

One of my favorite features.  I was so disappointed when they stopped doing it.  I don't think they even said they were ending it - it just kind of faded away.

Good call on Beetlejuice, but I'd have to question anyone citing the "Singin' In The Rain" sequence in A Clockwork Orange as any kind of favorite.

When Jeremy Davies showed up with such jacked-up hair at the Emmys I just assumed it was because he was filming Justified.  Apparently not.

Oh god.  I don't dislike Anne Hathaway.  She's a decent actress, I thought she (along with JGL) was the best thing about The Dark Knight Rises, and I haven't seen Les Miz, so I can't speak to deserving. That said, I really, really hate when virtual locks act so teary and supremely humbled and "Me?  Really?!?"  You can

This may end up being the only interesting category of the night, because all of the nominees have won before.

Clapton was fantastic.  I don't think they needed any more Stones, though.  I'm sorry, I think it's about time for Mick to hang it up.  That goes DOUBLE for Roger Daltrey.  Jesus, he lost his voice years ago, but he and Pete keep showing up for these things.

@Pairesta Good, I'm not the only one who remembers that.  Boba was a big deal because he was a new, exclusive figure.  My experience was identical to yours, by the way, except I did eventually get my non-rocket-launcher-having figure in the mail.

It's really kind of sad that even now, he's saying he was famous for dancing like Michael Jackson.  I remember him hanging out with Michael Jackson, and trying to look like Michael Jackson, but that's it.  The only kid I recall being famous for dancing like MJ is Alfonso Ribeiro.

I remember Lala Sloatman as being one of those demi-celebrities who dabbled in acting, but was really only famous because she was related to/partied with people who were famous in their own right.  Basically, Kim Kardashian if Kim had never gotten a reality show.

One of my favorite Robin Williams performances is in Dead Again.  It's a very small role and his screen time is only a few minutes, but he makes the most of it.  He was totally playing against type, and made a very convincing misanthrope.

To my recollection, it was not known at the time, or at least not the extent.

I was in high school in 1985 and lived just a few miles away from the town where Mischief was filmed.  It and the other nearby locations where parts of the movie were shot are small towns, in a somewhat rural area, but nowhere near the Appalachian mountains.  We're talking maybe 15-20 miles from Columbus, the
