It was in-sync with the original British series. They had always planned for her to die at that time.

Did the LOST showrunners ever reveal how they were going to utilize Mr. Eko in later seasons? I suppose some of the events that occurred in Locke's storyline would have happened to him…

For a while it seemed she was trying to get in on "Star Trek retirement", where basically you can keep making income by appearing at conventions. I think she even made a documentary about the convention-circuit as a way to better legitimize her appearances.

No kidding! I'm an average-looking at best guy, and literally every single woman I saw there was eye-f*cking me. My girl's roommate basically begged us for a threesome, as she'd been deprived of dick for so long. Also, all of the sorority events that are advertised (by posters or posts on electric poles) always said

Well, I'm holding out hope for a renewal. As I recall, TBS took a little longer to renew it last go-round (to the point where some of the actors were already involved in other pilots). Hopefully they announce soon though.

Ahh, good ol' Centenary College. Basically this school pulls the biggest bait-and-switch for hetero girls that are expecting a yolo college experience. The vast majority of guys there are either gay or bi-but-leans-towards-gay-at-that-age. A lot of the girls that go there will break up with their high school

I was a bit dissapointed that Marvel is migrating their character's appearances to the film versions. I'm starting to wonder how soon Hawkeye will have brown hair. Kid Loki was one of my favorite comic characters - now he looks like Tom Hiddleston. The way they injected the Samuel L. Jackson Fury into the 616 was

oh please let it be the movie. Did NBC give Community its 6th season pick-up yet?

Girard, I agreed with everything you said from the second paragraph on down, but throwing out a statistic like the one you made in the first paragraph is irresponsible. It's like when politicians claim that women make 77 cents to the dollar that men make (a statistic that doesn't mean what people think it means).

Because it was the first real iteration, a tiny spec of democratic activities amid a world of brutish tribalism and autocracy. It's unreasonable to have expected them to take up Jeffersonian, populist, republicanism-style representative government their first step outta the gate.

(I was about to write a nasty/insulting response, but realized that there's no call for that. We're capable of discussing the merits of a film and/or review without falling back on trolling/insults. Holy self-awareness, Batman!)

I'm right there with ya buddy. I found Ignatiy's opening sentence to be clumsily shoe-horned in.

I was very dissapointed with the lack of explosions in 12 Years a Slave. I had at least hoped for a dogfight between starships!

Excellent point. I once had a girl chew me out for 10 minutes for "making" her watch it. In retrospect, I probably could have guessed beforehand that she wouldn't have enjoyed it.

Ignatiy has to be the worst of the new crop of AV Club writers. He (she?) wrote this the way I'd expect a 14 year old to write a film review.

The first Sin City movie must be the most polarizing movie. I loved it, and have viewed it many times. Every time that I show it to a friend, they either proclaim how awesome it is, or say it was the worst movie they've ever seen.

That reminds me of an anecdote I'd heard on reddit regarding web traffic.

I always thought the Galileo story would have made a great tv/movie courtroom drama.
In short, no the Church didn't arrest Galileo for not taking the Bible literally - there was a whole ton of stuff going on behind the scenes with that story. A high-ranking Vatican official had an axe to grind with the astronomer,

(why would somebody upvote the question?) Anyways, SPOILERS:

-The last Cataclysm issue in the Ultimate's line: SPOILER - I thought they should have gone through with the world ending. As I understand it, that was the editors original intent until the bosses suddenly switched their minds.
- Uncanny Avengers - this has to be one of Marvel's best stand alone series. It's like
