I have read all the books, so knew what was coming, but the three themes just didn't hang together; too much time on the getaway plans and not enuf on the political intrigue that surrounded the Gathering, which is what made Jamie's strategies understandable. I've been waiting a long time to see if the TV drama would fit with my mental picture of Claire, Jamie and Frank. After the first episode, it's thumbs up from me. I've read all of the Outlander series multiple times, but am trying to keep my mind free of that knowledge and enjoy the show. So far, I'm VERY happy.
