Not sure either of them know. I think the only people who know are in the basement with him, the Huntress, or in the ground.

Exactly. I mean, it's fantasy, so ultimately who gives a fuck? But it did bother me a little bit. With his skills, I can imagine many people getting shot through the shoulder more often like the last guy, which would pretty much take a person out of the fight. But it's hard to imagine him moving in for hand-to-hand

Stoked that this show is back. Everyone seems on top of their game. The people running this show seem to know exactly what they want, love it or hate it.

Word.

In the beginning of Haywire, when Gina Carano fights Channing Tatum, she picks up his gun at the end of the fight and racks a round, presumably to quickly ensure that it's ready to fire. In a stunning bit of realism, Tatum's character already had the gun loaded, and you can clearly see the chambered round pop out when

Jesus H. Christ. I just said that up top. I guess I should read the fucking comments first before adding my own.

Most overused sound effect in action movies/shows: racking a round in a gun with a pump/slide when there is absolutely no need. When Ward pulls the guy off the horse, you can clearly hear the slide of a shotgun. But the shotgun he's holding is double barreled and has no pump.

You, my friend, do indeed have a very special set of skills.

I've disliked Sandra  Bullock in so many things that I'm afraid I might not be able to appreciate the pretty pictures. Then again, I loved The Heat, so maybe there's a chance I could get over it. Then again, that was mostly because Melissa McCarthy was hilarious.

As a character, Ward's problem for me is that he is redundant. As you imply, he doesn't have much to do. Coulson is all man in his uber cool, and May can beat the shit out of anyone. What is Ward around for, exactly?

You forgot to tell us to get off your lawn.

My theory: Coulson is a brain in a jar on a shelf somewhere in S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. That's why he must never know. "Coulson" is clearly flesh and blood, or he wouldn't experience pain, bleed when punched, etc.

I stand corrected on Buffy. It was extremely daring at times and, as you say, thematically rich and at times quite poignant.

Repeat after me: It's a superhero show. It's a superhero show. It's a superhero show. If it proves to be as entertaining as Arrow or Buffy, it doesn't have to be "deep" television. It doesn't even have to be Firefly. It just has to have some good dialogue, action, and avoid insulting my intelligence more than twice in

I'd go more B+ with this than solid B, just for the potential. It was definitely packed with exposition and had a lot of heavy lifting to do, but at the same time it managed to embrace the lighter tone of Captain America and the The Avengers. I wasn't too worried about the cliches. The awareness of one's own narrative

Yep. And it took not one but two reviewers to miss that point.

Oh sweet zombie Jesus, totally.

Probably TMI:

I'm really looking forward to Almost Human. It might help me forget Lili Taylor as Lisa in Six Feet Under (she was awesome, but Lisa made my skin crawl). And Minka Kelly always makes me forget that I'm married.

Someone needs to punch you in the dick. What's wrong with you? Sweat is sexy.
