True, but still I love their commitment to the things they put in the show, no matter how off the cuff it is.
Part of this episode really highlights one thing Publick and Hammer are great at, that being building bits of backstory out of nothing that seemingly look like they are at least partially planned out from the beginning. Case and point; WAAAAAAYY back in season 1 we had "Home Insecurity" in which some of the Monarch's…
I'm guessing it'll probably only be 3ish seasons or so. Apparently HBO ordered 18 episodes, which is way too long for a season for them and from what I understood McBride and Hill had a 3 season arc planned for Eastbound and Down when it started. They only added an extra because they didn't quite do season 3 like they…
I didn't think Rusty was actually hit with the gas. His eyes weren't all red and bloodshot like Brock, Billy or Haranguetan
Netflix actually for me has 2 of the title sequences most made for this list, but didn't make it. First of all Bojack Horseman. I love the way the backgrounds change to go with events in the show like when it became Hollywoo. Plus the images and that weirdly haunting theme song recreates the mood of the show exactly.…
Here's a question. When The Monarch and Doc saw each other at the end of the episode Doc clearly recognized him, but who do you think he recognized; The Monarch dressed up as Blue Morpho or The Blue Morpho himself from when Rusty was a kid?
Holy crap I never thought of that but you're probably right. I think Jonas and Morpho were brothers. Like I said the show seems to revel in it's ability to have more Venture Brothers than just Hank and Dean. They did it in the season 2 premier with Doc and JJ, and they did it again with Dermott. (one could also make…
That's true. There was just something about the look on her face when she walked back upstairs, but maybe that's just me.
Okay so predictions/theories:
1. Dr. Mrs. The Monarch actually knows about the Blue Morpho stuff and just wanted to see if her husband would actually admit to it. It doesn't seem like her to be that gullible.
2. Stoned Billy isn't the only one who is going to think Rusty is Morpho. I think if more of his arches start…
Oh totally, all of the good anything is still there even with the bad. To me it just feels like the overall legacy of a show is helped by having a strong ending and more to the point the legacy can be really really damaged by a crappy one.
Actually no it doesn't matter, I don't even really have a problem with the fact that they are still going. It's just at this point it's been happening so long that it almost seems like they won't end.
I've said it with other shows and I'll say it again. This is great news. Review has thus far had a nearly to completely flawless run and ending while the show is still on the top of it's game means the overall history of the show will be that much stronger for it. Plus endings are important. Shows have to end…
Exactly. Hopefully having such a recognizable and long running franchise as Star Trek means Fuller can break his streak, but then again it was somebody's idea to make this show streaming only on new and untested streaming platform so who knows?
Bryan Fuller…So this'll probably be the Trek series with the shortest run then I guess. Not that he's bad of course, I love all his shows but between Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, and even Hannibal that man has had some of the most tragically bad luck with the runs of his various shows.
Agreed, Venture Bros is just constantly on the top of its game. Although I might have to dispute that Archer isn't also constantly amazing too. VB is overall better, but I honestly don't have an episode in the run I dislike.
Sc-Archer-crow and Ms. Kane
Technically we even saw Treister's body frozen and lifeless in space and he still wasn't dead.
On the subject of JJ as mentioned in the stray observations. I always liked him as a character for one reason. Sure he's handsome and super successful in spite of living the first 42 years of his life as a tumor inside Rusty and being super small, but he's also kind of a dick. I mean he names the museum "The Jonas…
I've been mulling it over and I think I may have a theory. Now keep in mind this entirely speculation, but I think it makes sense. What if Reed and Co. were wanting to work on this rather than Archer; new thing more interesting etc. FX was getting anxious for season 7 of Archer and decide they'll get it faster if the…
