I saw on Reddit that some of the T spilled at contestant-hosted viewing parties is that the script explicitly said Pearl's character was supposed to be butch. So I guess the criticisms were kinda just to throw her for a loop and add ~*drama*~

Ru laying down the law was so cathartic to watch. So glad she called out the BS & the excuses and actually put the fear of God into these queens instead of just giving punny, inoffensive critiques.

Yeah I thought it was pretty obvious that Pearl was going for the butch, ambiguously lesbian PE teacher stereotype.

OMG I loved Trixie's soooo much. Her beard worked with the rest of her outfit and didn't seem tacked on at all (probably because it flowed seamlessly from her wig). Such a creative & well-executed look. Glad that she's showing some versatility, especially with her make-up (I think? It was hard to see behind her

I'm a huge fan of Pearl, but yeah her being totally over Macbeth pushed her personality to just the wrong side of Quaalude Queen. I still thought her outfits were stunning, though (gender-foock Queen of Hearts was a neat little twist on the challenge) & I liked her semi-sarcastic "thanks" in response to the judges'

Jasmine deserved whatever edit she got. I thought she was a nasty Nelly since day one. Her looks were busted and I'm glad to see her go.

Max continues to impress me. I thought she was gonna be all tired shtick, judging from the MTQ videos, but her runways have been consistently polished, unique, and totally in character (without being too costume-y). Plus her attitude is tops. Her calm optimism is so refreshing. She's in my top three for now (with

I'm not totally sold on Max's whole shtick, but she is proving to have a very impressive fashion sense.

I felt so bad for Trixie, too! The other queens kept trying to label her as a mean, shady jerk, but it's just her Midwestern sarcasm. That's how we be nice!

I feel like violet has a lot more confidence and personality than Miss Fame, though. They're both glamorous as hell, though (Miss Fame more classically so, I think).

I actually liked the airline numbers. …at least in comparison to the Eleganza Ball openers they have each season. Also, I'm loving Violet, too. I'm finding it hard to dislike any of the queens this season, even the blatantly bitchy ones. Violet's style is great and the delivery of her shade is hilarious. You can also

I think she was in the bottom two just to ensure that Sasha would be sent home. They probably want to keep Miss Fame around for villain/drama potential, & realized wasn't as much of a shoe-in LSFYL-wise. I mean, Miss Fame flubbed the challenge and the runway (the look was good, but not really on-theme), while Katya at

I feel like Ru's narration & sound effect, while sometimes funny, were mostly unnecessary and only served to help force narratives/drama that wasn't really there. I also don't mind the set - it all ties in with seeing the production crew with making this more of a glimpse behind all the artifice of the show. They took

whaaaaaa? you actually prefer the contrived fluff of the past few seasons of Untucked? It's refreshingly similar to season one's version & I'm glad to see it get back to its "reality TV deconstructed" roots. RPDR had been trying to become what it was initially parodying, so I'm loving this behind-the-scenes &

I would love for her to be our first big champion! All hail the hypno glamor toad!

Totally agree about Raja! No one can touch her on the runway, but she was still able to hold her own in other parts of the competition. While Miss Fame & Violet have yet to show a diverse skill set, I'm not writing them off as talentless look queens (though pageant, they are not). Katya seems to be the best at

It took me a while to realize what the final challenge was actually about (it seemed a bit vague). I couldn't even tell if everyone was in body suits or not (or if all the body suits essentially looked the same). I wish the fact that this was contouring/illusion challenge was highlighted more. Otherwise it just seemed

Yeah I thought all her looks were very solid & interesting. True that she could be overlooked, but it's also possible that her nonchalance will be a refreshing break from all the other queens' tagline screaming and awkward mugging.

I love Trixie (gotta support a WI queen), but I actually wouldn't mind a bitchy fashion queen to take the crown this year. I feel the campy underdog narrative has been way played out at this point. As long as Violet and Miss Fame keep wowing us with looks, I won't mind a little shade here and there.

I think I actually like Pearl. I mean, her personality is so low-key that it's hard to tell, but I'm finding that pretty funny so far. Also, her glamor/fashion is much stronger than where Milk's was at this point last season.
