I really wished I liked the callback to Remedial Chaos Theory more. It felt unearned. I hope that this makes more sense as part of the season as a whole.  As a single episode, it felt flat.

Ok, fair enough about the guys at the club and where that falls in the narrative - I thought the scene was there to give a reason why Douglas would extend at least some trust to CRS. I don't think you ever see the club members again - but I think it's fair to assume that they are part of the "Game" and not honest

Going back to the clown in the driveway for a moment, at that point in the story, I believe Douglas thinks he hasn't even started the "Game" yet, although he might have drawn that conclusion from the fact that there was a clown in his driveway. In addition, the fact that the posture of the "dead" clown is replicating
