I posted how the BBC always waits until the last minute to review its license with Netflix in response to the earlier Newswire, and that's what came to pass. It would seem unnecessary to report the matter when it happens again.

I remember many times when the Netflix license for BBC shows was set to expire, only to be renewed at the last minute. This occasionally happens with licenses from over content suppliers, but the BBC has seemed to be particularly slow, perhaps because it managed by a government bureaucracy. It's always possible that

Someone who can't understand the comic brilliance of Seinfeld is writing reviews of this show. Wow. It;s hardly surprising that these reviews are so far of base.

This was actually a terrific episode of TD. As good as any. Erik has lost it.

Terrific writing that really captures the show::

So you missed out on the wining and dining; you must be doing something wrong. :) I understand what you've said, and have no reason to doubt it. You seem to have understood I said, There doesn't appear to me that there's any inconsistency.

Hi Todd. I never thought that my quick post at the end of the comments would get any attention; you guys are diligent. I explained the thoughts underlying my brief first post in the post below about the appearance of a conflict of interest.

Hey Dennis. You're quite diligent to read this far down in the comments. The problem, as I see it, is that Todd's preliminary reviews do create what's called an appearance of conflict of interest. Todd decides your gigs and also has expressed his opinion on a show. It creates the appearance to outside observers that

Oliver Stone and Brittany Spears didn't like the BB final. Two idiots together.

You're right, but there is a bigger picture. Todd wrote a negative review after he watched the first few episodes. Dennis has been following that, for obvious reasons. The comments then seem to follow.

I agree, it was terrific. I liked every fantasy, and it was amusing guessing what they would be. It was clear that Charlie's would involve the waitress, but I didn't suspect that it turned would into the UP cartoon in his childish mind. Also, I didn't guess that Frank's fantasy would be to chow down on the dogs, but

Re Girls sketch: "24? What the fuck is wrong with you?" Perfect.

Well done review, Dennis, especially considering the problems reviewers of this show have had in the past. I found this line to be particularly apt: "there are real laughs to be earned from the spectacle of committed, heartless cruelty."

This may well be old news, but here is a French version of the Shield, Braquo, available on Hulu. Even darker than the Shield, Braquo's basic premise, a team of four cops who bend the rules, and confront Internal Affairs, various criminal elements, and their own personal disputes, mirrors the Shield. I don't find

Myles, yes. Anyway, my word choice was poor (some Jack was involved). I loved the BBC House of Cards, and I didn't feel that the AVClub reviewers understood what was going on. Obviously "not every episode in a serial drama needs to advance the plot, " but l was annoyed that both Todd and Ryan seemed to excessively

I;m sorry, I thought that you had written those pathetic House of Card reviews. The episode "in question" was in fact the least interesting episode of the show. I prefer episodes, I suspect that most viewers, are interested in advancing the narrative, I don't know know why the viewer needs "space to breathe." We have

Not too surprising that Todd and, his boy Myles, like flashbacks. The only episode on House of Cards that they liked a lot was when Frank went to his school and reminisced (which was actually just a filler episode) . They seem to have a knee-jerk standard that all shows should be evaluated on how well the show probes

The comments show how many brilliant scenes there are in these episodes, in particular, and season 4, in general.  It makes no sense that a comedy with so many great lines and scenes would get such anything other than great reviews and grades. I appears that the problem with AD episode reviews/grades are they have

Well, we would refer to our Aunt Irma as Manny Straight. I never knew why.

Duck, I disagree that it doesn't "come close to stacking up to the original AD." I found to inspired,  and often brilliant comedy.
