Yeah I mentioned it 'cause I saw him in something else. I've not watched a full episode of Jonathan Strange but I might have been channel hopping at one point and seen him. Just reminds me of the days of Two Thousand Acres of Sky and It's All Gone Pete Tong…

Glad to hear it!

Having seen the first two episodes, I'd agree with the B+ rating so far. Surprisingly good twists and turns with just the right amount of cringe so far…doesn't have the mindless swearing and violence of something comparable like Utopia (which I haven't seen the second series of yet). I like how the 'synths' have more

Netflix would be perfect. They'd be wise to team up with Gaumont again and even get Sony on board (who distribute it, and who have had plenty of experience working with Netflix themselves) to save this show and continue it for at least one or two more seasons. I can't wait to see how Armitage's The Tooth Fairy turns

That's just The AV Club score though. I personally gave True Detective a B, and The Brink a C+…

I already miss Veep…

Really? I didn't get that impression…she suddenly seemed pissed off to see her there, took her aside and engaged her in an argument.

I've seen McAdams in funny (Mean Girls, Midnight in Paris) and serious (To The Wonder, A Most Wanted Man)…she's actually really good in this. As is Taylor Kitsch, whom I've only seen properly in last year's The Normal Heart, where he wasn't bad…but he's a pretty bland actor overall. Glad to see he's not trying to hard

Moss had her fair share of misery in Jane Campion's Top of the Lake.

First season is now being referred to as 'The Long Bright Dark', if that helps.

See: Gus Van Sant's Psycho

But how did Ray know that was really the guy? Vaughn's character could have just found out about it and pointed a finger at some guy he wanted killed…right? Or just anyone, so he could get a young cop on his payroll…

More likely Ani would be right? After the cold shoulder she gave that guy she was seeing. Still, I don't see the need for people to be revealed as gay in a show like this unless they were really desperate for people to watch the show.

So far, so good. Of course it's not as taught nor intriguing as the first season, but we're only into the first episode and I seem to remember that started pretty slowly too. The only bit I really cringed at was Ani doing that prostitution bust and her sister conveniently be there…I loathe that kind of incidental

Paranoid Park and The Limits of Control were pretty good, not Wong Kar Wai-great though…agreed that there is an obsession with many Western cinematographers. He's still one of my faves though - up there with Deakins, Wexler, Müller, Francis, Zsigmond, Elswit, Savides, Ackroyd, Lubezki, Cronenweth (Sr and Jr), Willis,

Fail :( one of the best films of the last decade!

Chris Doyle would probably shoot it with tonnes of crazy lighting. I'd like to see him be attached to his own show. An oft-overlooked cinematographer in the West.

Uncle Boonmee.

You seem to be very confused about UK/EU matters…

All is Lost, 127 Hours, Moon and Cast Away are great. I'd add Silent Running too. Wanted to see Secret Honor for a while now (Robert Altman + Philip Baker Hall? Yes please).
