It's misogynistic.
It's misogynistic.
I don't think a movie of Catcher in the Rye would be an abomination exactly, but I do think it would Really Suck….that's where it would end up being an abomination.
Is at least an increase in homosexuality counter evolutionary if overpopulation is becoming a threat to survival?
I'm getting the sense that I'm the only one here who has to go clock into one of those lousy service jobs today so people like you can still get lattes and browse whatever lawn furniture's on sale. I didn't realize these AV clubbers were so elitist. I'm kind of depressed. And I kind of hate America.
How do you feel about Dana Plato's dad? She'd been given up for adoption as an infant, but when her biological dad found out the chick on Diff'rent Strokes was technically his daughter, he decided to sue her. For support.
It's fine. Not worth all the ire, but people like their ire, I guess.
ANNOUNCER: Donna Reed Crisis #5!
I used to like the film, but I can't buy the ending. No way all those folks would give up Christmas Eve plans to go give money to George, and when they finally heard about it, he'd be in jail and they'd all be gossiping about him and Violet and saying they couldn't believe it when really they loved the juiciness of…

I'm grateful this show exists, for a lot of reasons, but mostly for the titular character. Somehow Veronica is me even though I'm not a female teen sleuth.
Nah, Vinnie could totally be a mob figurehead….he was clearly for sale to the highest bidder. That's why I think a fourth seaason would have been so interesting. Lamb was incompetent and an asshole, but not completely corrupt….just mostly. Vinnie as sheriff would've been completely corrupt.
So how lonely do you think I feel as a fan of The Weight of the World?
Although I believe Veronica's "unlikeableness" with those she's close to this season is explained by her insecurity in her relationship with Logan, I do believe she's gotten even cockier about her mystery-solving abilities this year, and I do think the writers utilize it by showing us how often she's wrong. One…
Some of these characters were supposed to be (SPOILER, sort of) suspects in the next arc, so I guess the writers wanted to show these women would go far.
Wasn't the second of these two episodes the one where she ends with a voiceover proclaiming how much Logan and Keith love her even when she "doesn't love them enough"? That's not self-awareness of her behavior?
Yes, Scrawler's comments are how Rob describes it on the DVD, and he says neither he nor Kristen Bell considered Veronica harsh with the kid. I believe he described her as simply "deflecting praise" she doesn't want.
I did not have a problem with "the feminists." In fact, I never thought of them as "the feminists." I thought of them as Nish and Fern. (Ok, Claire never really registered with me.) We only see them in the context of their politics, and what's going on makes them angry….about the same amount of angry as I often…
Oh, I always feel like I have to defend Veronica here, because I both love and weirdly identify with the character. I don't find her unlikable at all here, and the only smugness I see is directed at Tim, who after all was an enormous douchebag to Veronica.
I like Season 3, but it would have been a perfect ending for the show that started because Duncan's parents thought their squeaky-clean boy was a killer: because of Neptune's system failure, their squeaky-clean boy had to become a killer.
