Man, I don't like this show at all. The cheesiness and the cheapness are the least of it's problems compared to the blander-than-the-previous-guy cast. You know what this ep reminded me of? Latter season Chuck. Back when they had a 5 dollar budget. And I know this show has more than that.
But then no one watched Chuck…

It didn't kill this movie. Also (again IMO) satire or black comedy is a better way to deal with tragedy and political fallout. See : Dr Strangelove et al

I'm of the opinion that this movie is a better "Quintessential Post-9/11 Movie" than something like ZERO DARK THIRTY. Anyone else?

Mike, what I gathered from this piece was that you felt ZDT was almost great but undercut by it's lead character. On the other hand you had no love for ARGO. However I just noticed you had the latter in your Best of 2012 list. Am I misreading something?

One of the reasons I love Homeland is its politics and how it treats Arabs and Muslims. However this episode bothered me in this regard because of the journalist character. She seems just the kind of Hollywood/24ish character that screams "Oh look they're everywhere and they're all connected!". But very out of place…

I liked the cold open a lot especially because I felt it was intended to seem grim, to make us think that Michael was having some sort of breakdown. At least that was my interpretation.

For some reason, the "I like animals" comment felt like a nod towards bestiality. I have no idea where they were going with that.

It's probably the best thing Anna Torv's ever done. She almost made cry. That face!
