I haven't seen Doughty play yet, so it's kind of a fear of the unknown thing.
But seriously, how do you leave off Jay Bouwmeester and, to a lesser extent, Vincent Lecavalier? I sure hope Drew Doughty works out.
I will not argue with you on either of those points. "Jesus is Waiting" is so great it makes me want to convert, if only for five and a half minutes (I have similar feelings about "Loving You" off of the Belle Album).
Sure the band is bad, but maybe some good can come out of it. Perhaps some screenwriter will see the name and be inspired to write a scene, or maybe a whole movie where there is a city that is full of owls. I for one think that would be awesome. Hell, even a building that's floor-to-ceiling owls would be great.
It's been a very long time since the real Bellona has posted anything (that I've noticed). I was under the impression that she quit commenting after the first "Who???" and the ensuing furor.
I regret to admit that my first thought was that the Canuck's best defensive defenseman had died. With that, the recent Kevin Bieksa injury and Sami Salo being due for an injury, the Canucks would truly be screwed on defense. Then I remembered that this was a pop culture website and that it was probably the Willie…
I prefer "I'm Still in Love With You" but it's a close call. I put both albums on a single disc and I think anyone would agree that that is a pretty incredible disc. It was a regular in my car's CD player all summer. I think I should put it on right now.
I look forward to the episode in which Goldberg spears Blagojevich.
I enjoyed the record but I really wasn't blown away by it. They do what they do very well but I think my basic problem is that minimalism and sameness do not have to be synonyms. Perhaps if I spend a bit more time with it, the individual songs will start to distinguish themselves from each other more.
"Flirted With You All My Life" also jumped to my mind. It ends positively and then the next song on the album really picks up momentum from that but it's impossible to listen to it the same way now.
I would start with his earlier stuff, particularly "West of Rome". You'll probably want to get "Little" right away too because it features "Isadora Duncan", which is probably his greatest song. After that I would move forward with "Drunk", "Is the Actor Happy?" and his most recent album, "At the Cut".
Retired from life
I have been fortunate to never have to deal with the suicide of someone close to me but whenever I hear of a suicide I always think of Vic singing, "I respect a man who know where he wants to be even if he wants to be dead". I can never decide if I agree.
So what you're saying is that he's no Bruce Willis
I propose that the AV Club do an homage to that shirt and sell a "I am Klaus Koski and this is my shirt" shirt with Genevieve's likeness on it.
Seems like the appropriate thing to do
If they included a straw with the bag of fake blood, surely they intended that someone should drink it. I want to know what it tastes like. My guess: fruit punch.
I think I would call him a second-rate Jobriath and therefore a third rate Bowie.
Uh oh… looks like Terry wandered off into the wrong thead again
The thing about "Here Comes Old Vodka Tits" is that it wouldn't be nearly as great if it was just "Old Vodka Tits". Toots gets it right, the enduring humour in the name is all about imagining the backstory.
