I was always pretty obsessed with trying to make decks that produced interesting stories, which didn't always translate to good game play. I've always been more into tabletop RPGs than CCGs anyway, so the story was the thing. Magic cards were great random plot generators when I had writers block for the RPG I was

I think D&D went through a similar thing. I always found the earlier period of the game, when it was a incoherent mishmash of pulp fantasy, post-apocalyptic sci-fi, mythology, H.P. Lovecraft, and whatever movie the DM watch last week, to be far more interesting than any of the canned settings like Forgotten Realms

Since you mention THACO I assume you are talking D&DE, so it makes sense to me. You can roll up a character for any pre-3E version of D&D and be playing in ten minutes. It works great for getting together with geeky old friends.

Think about the people that bought meth with that money with their bare, open-sore-crusted hands before you do that.

So Michelle Obama is kind of the King James of our era, but seeking to starve the witches rather than outright hunt them?

I suspect the ability to magic up a house made of candy would play havoc with your economic models on the costs of fattening children.

Impeccable deduction, I must say! Quite astonishing! That's why I will always be the Lucy Liu to your Johnny Lee Miller.

Not that I would be surprised in the least that they were ripping off the BBC, but honestly based on the ads, I feel like they are ripping off the formula of The Mentalist and Castle, where you have a quirky crime solver with a more boring female sidekick. Just my gut feeling.
