The series has definitely improved with time, understanding that it is not at all meant to be taken seriously. I love how it has begun to laugh at the "serious" characters like Grace and Pete, because it feels way less tonally jarring when they're on screen. I'm so curious to see how they end this thing.

I would have been perfectly content with an episode that centered around the piñata of secrets. But this season can do no wrong in my book.

Why is every episode of this season so perfect. I feel like I'm watching a masterpiece unravel, I know that sounds pretentious, but I don't give a fuck. This show goddammit!

Mellie's storyline was my favorite part for this episode, save for that wonderfully written and acted fight between Fitz and Olivia at the end. This was probably the least twisty winter finale Scandal has ever did and that's why it was so shocking. Because it was subtle (well, for this show's standards). But it

I know there are still five more episodes to go, but this is easily the best season of this show yet. Every episode has had at least one perfect scene (in terms of editing, framing, writing, acting, but also emotion). No show does the "bittersweet feel-good" vibe better than Please Like Me.

I watched this episode after a night out at three am, but that sequence where everyone was on the phone that lead to the climax of Josh's Dad having a break down was so effective that even drunk me felt for it.

I knew before this review went up that this episode was going to get a solid grade. The show took a step back from being about how Rebecca is obsessed with Josh and actually fleshed out Rebecca's character beyond being the "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend". It was a smart and poignant episode about a woman who doesn't know

I'm so glad they're doing episodic reviews of this show! I love hearing other people's thoughts on what this show is doing because the tone it' striking is so unique and so well-balanced that it needs to be discussed.

Why is Eli Pope still a thing, oh my fucking god! Can't Shonda Rhimes tell that he's the root cause of everything bad about Scandal?!?!? Without him, this show is a tight and focused ship about the dangers of secrets and how they bind all these people together. Eli dragged this episode down but not as much as the

I agree with the Champlin, but I still feel like the good outweigh the generic. I died in every single song. Literally had to leave the room and come back because it was too much to handle. Rachel Bloom is fantastic, but I definitely do agree that they need to come up with more creative plots and stop relying on the

Cried. The. Entire. Time. Why am I such an emotional human?

I cried three times in this episode! I don't want to jinx Scandal because I always feel like I do, but (yay)

nope. they are self aware about singing songs.

This show is perfection and also I matched with Josh Thomas on Tinder, I'm officially cool.

your tone seems very pointed right now.

This is the FIRST real musical that's been on television, it's one for the books. I was smiling the entire time! Best pilot of the season by far.

I want to marry sassy narrator, I don't even care if he's just a voice box. Also, Gina Rodriguez is amazing and beautiful and majestic. I appreciate her so much more after hearing her at Hollywood Reporter Roundtable this year.

I didn't think that at all.

Who would have known that Mindy Kaling would do off beat family sitcom packed with themes of motherhood and roles of men and women better than she did cutesy traditional rom com?!?! She is KILLING with this new season.

This show just needs to pick a tone and stick to it. But then again, when has that not been a problem on a Ryan Murphy show. He has too many ambitions and ideas and inspirations and trying to funnel them into one show is just never a good idea. Everything LaToya Ferguson said above is 100% accurate so I don't feel the
