You say that last line as if you sometimes find Hardcore History lacking in coherence/narrative. Is that true? I never do.

Yeah, Maron almost never does research unless it's one of the oldsters he's been doing recently. I would have liked to hear some deeper delving into their relationship beyond just discussing the beginning of it too but Seth and Jah shouldn't take it personally at all. That's just how Marc rolls.
It's been a while but I seem to remember Seth being the same way on JJGo. I don't think it's that he was intimidated, just a little wary.
Speaking of the pioneers of this game, UYD gave props to Keith and The Girl and it was nicely ironic the way Marc then took the piss out of KATG having their studio way out in the no-mans-land of the Queens suburbs when it seems like half of Marc's own guests comment on how out of the way The Cat Ranch is. Especially…
I was worried it would fall far short of the original, like Farts & Pro 2 did, but Time Bobby 2 delivered to the max.
I've only been a very irregular listener to UYD but I thought it was a really fun WTF and Seth and Jonathan both came across really well. The whole chat was engaging from start to finish, even when Marc was hollering at his neighbour (again), and even though Marc didn't really connect with them he still gave them mad…
I tried listening to Smartest Man a year or so ago but didn't really dig it. Loved his appearances on Harmontown though, which made me wish I had another couple of hours in my days to give Smartest Man another crack.
True dat @avclub-0cf557b64b3fc71dc03c812abfbcdecb:disqus , since they got back from the tour Harmontown has been on fire (dragon pun intended), especially whenever Kumail gets amongst it.
Walsh's character felt tired to me not just because it was yet another bad comic added to the already bulging CBB catalogue of bad comics, but because it was the type of bad comic a non-comedian plays. Anti-comedy isn't just being unfunny. It's being unfunny in a creative way, and for me, on this occasion, Walsh…
"It's all in Spanish" = "lowest common denominator"?
In jokes are really just a call-back comfort blanket. They're 99.8% math and 0.2% wit. They seem exclusionary on the surface when really it's just a lonely nerd whispering "Hold me."
Once you get past the horrible D&D episode (might be ep 8) where Spencer bogs shit down for what feels like 17 hours with a dumb puzzle involving coloured pillars it turns out he's an awesome and lovable (and multi-skilled) DM.
"Oh, and Harmontown is now officially one of my top tier favorites, along with CBB and SPY. I wasn't sold on it at first, but the last few episodes clinched it."
Glad you stuck with it through those ropey first 45 episodes @avclub-0cf557b64b3fc71dc03c812abfbcdecb:disqus.
Good call on Russell Brand.
Yeah, Dan Carlin's magical like that. He sure is the exception though.
@avclub-93ece5243112587b598afe09d6fb956c:disqus What's unfortunate about the critics who accuse Carolla of racism in those rants is he's clearly motivated by the fact he hates how bad the living conditions for minorities are. He clearly wants a better life for African Americans, especially the kids. If he actually…
Yup. Wengert's thing is the best new CBB thing since New-No-Nos
It was not only pretty strong, it's one of the Top 3 Of 2013.
Oh, no @avclub-39df51c015ce671b473b8cf5a306d217:disqus, where you're going wrong is that the new songs aren't comedy songs.
Heck, I unironically liked all BUT one of their songs (the slow one was boring, can't remember the name).
