Did anyone watch that Grungies video and see the 1992 commercial which aired halfway through? If not, I highly recommend checking it out — it deserves it's own entry on this list, and the ending is a nice bit of synchronicity.

I like that of all the shitty "people buying things and then selling them" shows that are currently saturating television, Storage Wars is always the one people are most embarrassed to admit liking.

Law and Order briefly came to mind when I saw this list, but then I realized that I actually love Law and Order reruns way too much* to accuse them of holding me hostage. I have a similar relationship with Billy Joel. For a long time I told myself that I appreciated his music in a sarcastic, mildly ironic way. But one

I have to agree with the MSNBC thing a little bit. When I just want to turn on a cable news channel and leave it on in the background while I do something else, CNN is typically doing something just unbearably boring involving Wolf Blitzer, and Fox News is… well, I don't have to explain that. I can remember a time when Gibson at least had the support of right wingers and evangelicals because of Passion of the Christ, but that all passed as his shenanigans became increasingly offensive. It must be tough to be universally reviled. I mean, most people, no matter how horrible, are supported by at least one

See, I was going to say David Cross today, but then I thought about how the new season of AD is about to come out. In fifteen years though, I think he will be in full-blown Eugene Levy mode, and completely beyond redemption.

Someone needs to rescue John Cleese from the shitty movies he takes a paycheck for and steadily employ him in movies that are worthy of his talent, which is to say, some talented young director needs to be the Wes Anderson to his Bill Murray.
