Confession time: I plan to see this in theaters because I need to fill my "shirtless Jamie Dornan" quota for 2015.

Why weren't you my high school history teacher?

"Instead of making sandwiches with bread, use pop tarts. Instead of chewing gum, chew bacon." For some reason, the way Dr. Nick delivers that line just makes me laugh every time.

I want to have sex with this newswire like a big dumb homo.

Birdman's score was deemed ineligible by the academy several weeks ago. I thought for sure it would get in for editing.

A couple weeks ago no one thought American Sniper would get anything. Now it's up for almost all the major awards. It's doing gangbusters at the box office in limited release and the old white academy just love Eastwood. I wouldn't count it out.

"The Theory of Everything combined the two things audiences love: a crippling nerve disease and super complicated math."

It wasn't actually quite complete when it premiered at AFI fest either. Still needed some touch ups and final credits. The less time you give yourself, the bigger disadvantage you're at.

I fear American Sniper might end up snatching the top prize, but no Eastwood for directing may suggest otherwise. Imitation Game is coming on strong too. Really hope Boyhood can pull off this win, and if it has to lose, let it be to Whiplash or Selma.

That would have been the dream team. Gyllenhaal, Fiennes, Oyelowo, Keaton, and Redmayne. Damn, that would have been a race.

All of my parents friends loved it. One of them called it "the best movie of the year by far." So, this makes me nervous because I thought it was adequate and nothing more.

"Into the Woods" is the title of the short story I wrote about losing my virginity.

Princess Kaguya is amazing and should easily win (it probably won't). I have to say that the Lego Movie deserved a nomination at the very least.

A big problem was that post production of the film only ended a few months ago. It's not like Paramount was just sitting on the movie. DuVernay pretty much finished the film a couple days before AFI fest, where it premiered in mid November.

The first time since 1999 that none of the 20 actors nominated are black or of color (I believe this is true). 20 white people.

I didn't head-over-heels love GBH (it's my #15 movie of the year) but damn did I think the screenplay was witty and cleverly constructed.

Simmons gets my vote, but I wouldn't be mad if Norton or Hawke wins either.

Birdman is in trouble due to no editing nomination. High correlation between BP win and Editing nomination.

OK. Then Boyhood still gets it.

Pancakes, Divorce, Pancakes is just a brilliantly constructed episode of television and definitely better than half the episodes on the list. At least we can sleep at night knowing we are aware of its awesomeness.
