It's a slow build. For me, at least, The Wire has a different pacing from any other show I've seen. Each episode is less like a short story and more like a chapter in a book; it takes a little bit of feeling out before you get an appreciation for the characters and the setting.

Yah her
Fwee Snoo mahn

Remakes of all stripes are fine as long as it's a well-made take on the material. I don't want to live in a world without The Thing.

DAMN
Shit just got hackneyed.

He's pretty awful in this commercial, too:

Some versions of the original Arkham Asylum were released in 3D, so I'd say it's a good bet. If you have a PS3, at least.

It's also starting a run April 15 at the Music Box in Chicago.

Fables
Isn't there a Fables television show in the pipelines, too? This sounds pretty similar.

The rare double colon
My uncle had one of these, too.

No, he's Keyser Soze.

Andrei Kirilenko, in his American acting debut.

My mistake
I originally read this as Barry Sonnenfeld, which probably would have resulted in a much different movie.

Thanks
For me, jazz is perfect for this series - I really love the genre, but I mostly just have the landmark albums by the big names. I'm looking forward to supplementing the Mingus I do have with some new stuff.

I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion.

Tim and Eric Go Mainstream
I'm looking forward to this, even though I stopped watching or caring about their show a few years ago. I actually think that if they rein in some of their intentionally grating bits and shoot for a wider audience, it would make for a better movie.

Technically, they aren't blood relatives.

Wringing of hands, clenching of teeth
I've seen a lot of angry reactions to this news, and I understand why, but unnecessary sequels, prequels and spinoffs never really bothered me.

Sounds like a good deal
So, wait - they accepted the money to postpone the suit and are now using it in the claim against them? The NY Post story linked from here didn't seem to clarify that point.

Yessss
He's basically flirted with the genre a lot, particularly in Kill Bill, so I'm really excited to see what he cooks up with this one.

Bad news, nerds:
