Have you ever seen a TV show where every conversation was between women characters and one male character said one single word in an entire episode?

There was also a man in Laveau's hair shop, called Chinua (Chinue?) who never spoke, and was shot in a way that his face was in shadow.

You're right, there are a lot of black/white balances. I think the writers chose the initial story of the black male slave being falsely accused of attacking the white woman slave-owner to try to break down the black male sex beast stereotype. But, I think they are having their cake and eating it, too; using the image

If I raise the contrast on my TV, it helps me separate the nuns' habits from everything else, but then all I can see is a flat, black dress in front of a flat, black background.  This is how I ended up with the settings all over the place, I can make out a bit shape and depth this way.  I had more success when I

I felt like Lana ending up back at the asylum was a perfectly reasonable place to go, they just could have worked a little harder to earn it.  They could have had the driver kidnap her for longer, they could've shown the police doubting and vilifying her the way he did and then using their authority to re-commit her.

I started to brace myself for her just getting hit by a car, which has happened in plenty of other things (something on Nip/Tuck, too?), then it was like, they could've at least had that guy kidnap her until next episode.

Dead serious question: What kind of color setting adjustments do other people do to make the show tolerable to watch?  I've been lowering the contrast and raising the brightness a lot, then leaving saturation in the middle or up a little bit.

"Since you like to spend so much time on your knees, maybe someone will cut off your feet, and you'll stay like that… FOREVER."

I started to see an abortion allegory, but, then, yeah, it kind of went no where.

Just as he had Lana in the car and said something like "I never worked here.  You can tell Sister Jude I said that," I got a strong vibe of "Wow, he's super creepy and totes appropriate as a serial killer. Oh. Right. "Heroes." Heh…"

You've got me thinking of all the raven haired men with generally delicate features.  Maybe Joseph Fiennes is Gruper's son and/or the monsignor and the serial killer are siblings.  OR Adam Levine is actually Joseph Fiennes's secret son, and he and his freaky wife are actually siblings.  Because of the black hair.

I had this idea last season that the show should be in eight 90 minute episodes, since they want to be "ground-breaking" and all that. I think this would've helped this episode with cramming in so many story lines and the visuals that flipped around so much between each one.  But yeah, I hated the jump to the super 8,
