I got FJ even though I think of milquetoast as more of a bland quality than timid. Also, After Their Time: No one knew Harris Wittels invented humblebrag.

Pitchfork wrote something similar to this a long time ago (here it is: www.pitchfork.com/features/… and was pretty dismissive of Tullycraft but I say Beat Surf Fun would be a great place to start. Not least of all because the first song on the album is Twee.

Googling "twee" in 2001 was when I first discovered Wikipedia. They were the only ones that had anything to say on the subject and it was oddly comprehensive.

Since they keep making the joke I'll keep commenting that I have to call him Paris' boyfriend when talking to my wife.

This is a situation where knowing less helped. I had no idea except for Author? Africa? Hemingway I guess.

In addition to Alex not realizing, why doesn't a producer say, "hey, do you want to cool it with the condescension?" I mean, I've noticed it for years. At least sacrifice an intern on their last day to say it.

I guess I understand Tom Arnold's reputation. He got famous off someone else's talent! But I feel like the people that think that have never seen him on a talk show. He's on Conan a lot and he's always very charming and funny. I haven't heard what Persia is talking about though.

I haven't read the book, maybe it claims to be a comprehensive overview. But since titles are often imposed by publishers I wouldn't put so much importance on the title. Heck, I don't even care what the book says it tries to do. If it has interesting things to say about new-ish sitcoms then it's a good book.

I look at it this way. I love horror movies. I've read a lot of books about them. At this point I have almost no interest in a book that starts from the beginning. Or at the Universal monsters. Or even Night of the Living Dead. It's been done to death. I don't know the history of sitcom criticism but the fact that

"Daydream" - The Lovin' Spoonful

I was thinking of suggesting Freed Pig by Sebadoh but then thought, nah, Breeders did it and that's enough.

Didn't he join Earwolf to get more exposure? That worked fast!
