Oh I totally am misremembering the scene from godfather part 2, i haven't seen it so long.
There is a lot wrong with that is said here, but lets start with the easy one. The location of the codex isn't a plot twist, the audience sees Jor-El disintegrate it into his son in the first 10 minutes of the movie. You know, when he is about to launch Kent into space?
