I'm not sure why "one would assume" Murray and Waters would have been buddies.  Saying "I'm a huge fan of both of them," is essentially incoherent given how uneven their respective bodies of work are, but they've both done work I really adore.  They've also both been victims of a reflexive "kill your idols" style…
