Tom Waits, "Dirt in the Ground"

Waiting for Godot

Pity about the limited time. Secrets & Lies is a great film (and he was marvelous in it) and it would have been interesting to hear more about Mike Leigh. Still, great interview with an overlooked gem of an actor.

Steely Dan
"Deacon Blues", to be precise.

I wonder
how he felt about Homicide: Life on the Street. That was a hell of a show, right up to the last season or so.

'Is that how they talk down there in Memphis, Tennessee?". Classic stuff. I saw a clip of the Letterman appearance with Lawler and that is just as funny today as it was then, maybe funnier.

'Wonderfalls' had a little bit of a wrap-up, though your point is taken. The less said about the 'Dead Like Me' movie, the better.
