He's got that I-need-to-be-liked-or-else-I'll-do-something-permanently-disfiguring-to-myself-and/or-others screen charisma that Jim Carrey and a pre-lazy Adam Sandler also have. Carrey has been decent when tying that mania to dramatic/menacing roles, as did Sandler in Punch-Drunk Love.

CBS needs to cast Lillard and Michael Rappaport together as a Terriers-style private eye team, but make it into the sort of show that the horrific ad campaign made everyone think Terriers was, complete with the crime fighting dog.

Both Bernie Kosar and Keith McCants came through as tragic, broken men who probably would have been happier with more modest lives. McCants was moving because of his self-knowledge. Kosar was moving because you could see his body and words trying to tell one story ("I'm okay") while his eyes were saying something else

Handlen seems to review (experience?) shows as abstractions, as specimens demonstrating the possible structures and ramifications of modern televised drama. As if each episode is a speculative theorem about the nature of drama, and not something that is actually experienced and felt. It's why I'm bummed when I find

I want Gemma and the Khaleesi to have their own spinoff where they hit the road and chant "we want our dragon grandchildren" over and over and over again, distracting motorists from all of the other interesting things that are going on.
