I think that's a quirk lifted right from the novels.

A clear step down from the pilot for me. Its intended emotional impact replicated the stronger emotional beats of the pilot: last week, Walt's visit to the wife reminds him of his own wife's death; this week, his visit to the mother and father remind him of his own relationship with his daughter.

I just wish Mike wasn't so spectacularly incompetent, though.

Well put. There are elements that can be improved—as you say, the mystery ostensibly at the heart of the episode is fairly pedestrian—but I think 'Longmire' has a combinations of elements that make it eminently watchable now and that also hint at possibilities of real growth. The ensemble is fantastic and the setting

I'm sure there are fundamentalist Dothrakis out there somewhere protesting last night's showing of 'The Last Temptation of the Khaleesi.'

More lyrical than balls-to-the-wall visceral. Cinematic in terms of its visuals and breathing room. A show built out of gradual, as opposed to immediate, pleasures.

Let me recommend the Longmire pilot. It's a good, careful, character-based crime show. Body-of-the-week but with a deeper interest in both character and setting. Particularly in terms of blurred lines: white/Indian, old west/new west, grief/rebirth. Comparisons to 'Justified' don't really hold…more lyrical, more

Tax credit. Same reason Breaking Bad was moved from California (as written in the pilot) to ABQ.

You use too many words to say the same thing over and over again.

Kind of interesting to have a guy with a I'm-closing-in-on-30-but-I-act-like-I'm-actually-a-precocious-12-year-old-boy-wonder-in-order-to-not-be-morally-implicated-in-the-rough-and-tumble-shenanigans-of-the-adult-world,

And isn't Jon Snow's wildling girlfriend the sexiest thing? Tomboy peasant indolence: [boing].
